Kristen has been cooking healthy food since she was a young girl growing up with a beautiful garden in Oregon. She moved to California when she was eleven and continued to learn new kitchen skills. It was not until she had her own children that she began to explore ingredients in processed foods and experiment with different ways of eating. Working for several restaurants and catering special events as myvibrantlife.net she has explored vegan, vegetarian, raw vegan, whole food, macrobiotic paleo, gluten free and many other specific ways of eating until settling into a very balanced way of preparing delicious healthy foods that are seasonal and available to most people.
WHAT I LIKE TO DO WHEN AM NOT COOKING:
After attending Golden West College she also received a certificate as a health coach at Institute for Integrative nutrition and is also a yoga teacher. She enjoys teaching workshops on seasonal easy to prepare meals especially those with lots of vegetables and small amounts of high-quality protein. Kristen loves gardening, travel, surf, martial arts and rock climbing.
MY FAVORITE COMFORT FOODS: Favorites include Chocolate hazelnut mousse pie, vegetable fried rice and butternut squash enchiladas.
